In addition to its international efforts, BioCann is committed to the development of the local South African medical cannabis market through developing local patient access in accordance with Section 21 of Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965,of the Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965, as may be amended from time to time.

With an indoor facility that spans over 3 500 square meters, BioCann is capable of growing at least 50 000 cannabis plants a year, consistently delivering the finest quality of medical grade products. BioCann’s processing facility is proudly managed under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and the cultivation facility operates in accordance with Good Agricultural and Collection Practice (GACP). Both facilities have been certified in terms of the Control Union Medical Cannabis Standard (CUMCS). BioCann was one of the first South African cannabis producers to meet the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) regulations back in 2020 and continues to prioritise the Authority’s requirements.
